Research Shows the Number One Leading Cause of the "Newlywed Nine"

Personal research has shown that the number one leading cause of the "Newlywed Nine", the average weight gain by newly marrieds, is the combination of excellent wedding cake bakers and gifts. Or, more specifically, the combination of leftover wedding cake and new (Easy! Fun!) Homemade ice cream makers.

To combat this 'growing' trend, newly married folks should make an effort to do one or both of the following: 1. Invite guests over under the pretense of wanting to "hang out" and feed them smallish meals so they will help consume the cake and ice cream for dessert. 2. Give away "thank you" packages of leftover wedding cake to the parents, in-laws, aunts and uncles, friends as a "thanks for helping with the wedding!" gift.

brilliant. and here i would have attributed it to the fact that people tend to eat more real meals once they've gotten married.
