when i tell californians i live in iowa the reaction is usually "ohhh" and across their face shoots a look that says Idaho? Ohio? I have no idea what she just said or where it is...

but when i tell them i live in South Dakota, the immediate and now unfailingly predictable reaction is: *gasp* "ISN'T IT COLD THERE?"
