countdown and good friends
One week and two days: My not-so-little-anymore brother's wedding.
Three weeks: Labor Day Weekend - Okoboji with
Five weeks and two days: Wedding Day!
Six weeks and two days: Jamaica and Ags & Neil's big day!
Seven weeks: Ags and Neil come back from Jamaica and stay with us for four days before heading off to see the world...
On one hand, I want the next six weeks to FLY by. I want nothing more than to be sitting on a beach in Jamaica, or in the pool - cool drink in hand, listening to the ocean... MARRIED.
On the other hand, being in Jamaica will mean i'm one week away from seeing my good friend Ags leave. For California and london and then australia. One week away from not knowing when we'll see each other again. one week away from saying goodbye and knowing that we've completely crossed from drinking our coffee together every morning, sharing a dishwasher and disagreeing how to load it, drinking wine and watching movies, chatting on google daily to "I'll come visit you someday," to having a 13+ hour plane ride around the earth before we can share a bottle of wine, to having to get up in the middle of the night to have a good phone conversation.
It makes me sad already.
She visited me at Adam's last night. We opened our second bottle of wine at 10pm, trying to prolong the fun of chatting while getting more and more tipsy off cold pinot, by the end of the bottle we were giggling like little girls...
So while i'm very anxious to be married, can i just pause for a moment? Can i go back to sitting in the cute downtown apartment with Ags with a bowl of spinach salad with olives drinking wine and exclaiming how wonderful we are? Can i go back to waking her up with fresh coffee and scrambled eggs ready to be enjoyed? These are the simplest moments in life that are worth sharing and worth remembering and worth holding on to...
