pure happiness
Adam's mom was right last night when she said she expected i was looking forward to the snow. At the time I told her that i wasn't, i was thinking more about the driving aspect than the snowing aspect. But i was wrong. Who cares about driving when the first snow of the year is perfect snow?
Light, fluffy, and fluttering down like the angels are slowly dumping snow buckets. it's warm enough that your fingers aren't turning blue, and there's no big winds to cause drifts. It's just perfect winter snow. Christmas snow.
This is what i missed for two years in california, they can talk all they want about how "it's better here because you can drive up to the snow when you want it", but they'll never understand what it means to wake up to it, to sit in your house drinking hot cider watching it fall. To not have the choice of the weather you want, but instead to just accept it as it is.
I'm glad i missed two winters, and i know by February i'll be sick of the the wet and the cold (right about the time i'm flying to cali...). but right now, i'm the happiest person, right where i am.
